Formula 113 Car Wax has made a
significant impact on the automotive car care
industry over the past 14 years. Wax Daddy’s
products were first introduced in 1995 at the
Daytona car show called “THE TURKEY RUN” the South
East’s largest car show held every year on
Thanksgiving weekend. Sales were slow and nobody
knew our products so the owner Michael Prisco (Wax
Daddy) gave a U haul filled with Formula 113 Car Wax
and the Beadx Detail Spray away at the DJ booth.
The following spring , the house phone started to
ring and orders started coming in from all over the
South East. Based out of just a 2 car garage, Wax
Daddy started to fill bottles and went out and
bought a new van and got ready for spring time in
the North East.
Eventually, word of mouth coupled with extensive
marketing at collector car shows, car cruises and
collector car auctions put Formula 113 One Step Wax
and Sealant and BeadX Detail Spray on the map.
Wax Daddy became infamous for selling the products
from a little red wagon filled with Formula113,
Beadx and a host of other detailing products at many
major car shows all over the North East. Wax Daddy
was walking the show fields and asking car
enthusiasts if they wanted to see how well these new
products worked.
This technique of selling the products was working
to build our data base of customers. Many of those
customers became dealers for our products. One
person in particular was Charlie Aubuchon of
Aubuchon Hardware Stores based in Massachusetts.
Michael gave Charlie some products for free to try
on his Dodge Charger. He was very impressed and we
received our first order from Aubuchon Hardware in
the spring of 1997.
. Aubuchon Hardware still sells the products in 142
stores and will continue to sell Formula 113
products for years to come. Special thanks to
Aubuchon Hardware and our dear friend Charlie
Aubuchon for helping through all the ups and downs
over the years. And thanks to all our dealers and
loyal customers for believing in our products
Formula 113's booth has become a favorite stop with
many car enthusiasts because of the loyal customers
and Wax Daddy's larger than life personality. Many
of our original customers continue ordering our
products after 14 years and still stop at our booth,
they are family now and we look forward to seeing
them at our favorite car shows.
October of 2004 Michael was filming a syndicated TV
show called "Addicted to Cars" The show was about
1953-2004 Chevy’s. The show was produced by Ecklers
Quality Corvette parts and accessories dedicated to
showing the viewer's new products, feature vehicles,
how to installations, special modifications, car
shows, shop tours and the detailing tip of the week
hosted by Wax Daddy.
November of 2004 Michael and his wife Catherine were
walking through the SEMA show in Las Vegas when they
spotted the legendary custom car builder, George
Barris standing next to a Mini Cooper with 2 front
ends and a Jacuzzi in the middle. Catherine and
Michael had to meet the legendary custom car
builders and immediately they walked over and
introduced themselves. George Barris was with Vini
Bergeman from Ultra Limousine’s based in Southern
California. The Mini Cooper was part of a new TV
show called “THE KUSTOMIZER” .
George and Vini were overwhelmed by Michael's larger
than life personality that they instantly hit it
off. Vini began to tell Michael about the TV show
that was going to air for the first time on The
Discovery Channel on November 22 of 2004.
Michael was invited to Vini's house in California
for the Big premier party that Vini was having at
his palatial mansion in Orange County, California.
Wax Daddy met Tom Jennings and he was immediately
impressed with Michael s personality and his Sinatra
tribute for all 200 guests at the premiere and he
was asked to come back to film new episodes with
Vini and the cast of the Kustomizers. Michael drove
his 1997 Red Corvette from his house in Florida to
California in June of 2005. Wax Daddy was featured
on episodes 4&5 of the Kustomizer.
May 2006, George Barris was at Wax Daddy’s booth at
the Cruisin Ocean City, MD street rod show. George
was on hand to autograph special limited edition
bottles of Formula113 with the Double Headed Mini
Cooper label and the Beadx labels that sported
George Barris’s one of a kind GTO roadster .
December 2008, Michael was again invited by Vini
Bergeman to appear at an international car show held
in Malaysia. The Kustomizer TV show is still airing
around the world and it’s the # 1 show in Malaysia.
Vini and Wax Daddy signed 1000’s of autographs at
the show. Wax Daddy sang MY WAY for the minister of
tourism, Azalina.
